We had the privilege of working with ROE PHOTO again, when they came to town to photograph the all new Ford Expedition. We were tasked to find them several rugged outdoor locations, coastal roads and urban modern building to serve as the backdrop for their new campaign. Here is a sampling of what ROE shot. They look amazing!

At the beginning of the year, we were hired to help find and secure locations for the new 2021 Ford Bronco Sport Reveal with Roe Photo, GTB and First on Set. We have worked with Roe for many years and know what he likes in a location… typically the rougher the better. We absolutely loved what he shot and look forward to working with him again soon!

In the beginning of June, while we were in the midst of a global pandemic, we were approached by AKQA to help them source locations for a ‘Get the Vote Out’ still shoot campaign with Levi’s. During this strange time and political climate, Levi’s wanted to convey an important right and privilege that we have here in the USA - VOTE.
We had just learned that San Francisco was just beginning to open production back up with major safety and personnel restrictions in place. The team would need to have health and safety guidelines in place to assure they were working within the current SF health order and on set protocols. Ultimately, this was only the 3rd permit that the SF Film office would be processing since our shelter in place order. There were new added steps, more paperwork, plans that needed to be mapped out, etc. How will people get to set, would we remain socially distant, how would hair and make up work, how would you keep the general public socially distant from set, how would you keep the set sanitized, etc. Ultimately, we put a plan together that would allow max 10 people on set, shooting outside only, hiring talent that lived together or in a cohort, having them do a remote hair/make up/wardrobe session, and following all the current SF health protocol.
Working closely with Film SF and SF Rec and Park, we were able to pull off our first shoot during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a huge success and the results were fantastic. Thank you to the SF Film office and SF rec and park department for their guidance and allowing this campaign to be one of the first productions out of the gate after months of being shut down.

The Bay Area boasts some of the best roads for shooting car commercials and automotive print ads. I love scouting for automotive campaigns and I love driving, so this week I am presenting some of our favorite open roads that we have scouted…. A subtle metaphor for our long road ahead.

“Work Where?” was the slogan for this Banana Republic shoot that we worked on a few months ago. We just received the final spots from the production company and I’m wanting to share this amazing piece, especially since we are asking “Where Work?” and we are so ready to “Get to Work!”!
This was a very ambitious project with an aggressive schedule, shooting 4 talent per day at 3-4 different locations. Working from soup to nuts, we prepped for several weeks prior to the shoot and had 14+ hour days on set. It was an absolutely professional crew and we had amazing talent to shoot, including Jon Boogz, Saint Sinner, Goapele, APEX, Jimmie Fails, Chinaka Hodge, Grady Brannan, Mari Swim and Lea Sabado. Our final days of this campaign were a bit different from the first several days of shooting in the city. Our directive was to shoot a new Banana Republic ad for their new line of sustainable clothing. The slogan is “What if we could make things better? What if we could make better Things?” We secured a ranch in Petaluma that had beautiful rolling hills and a serene and open pond, a California beach with a large rocks and a panoramic coastal overlook. The results are just beautiful and outlines why shooting in Northern California is so desirable.

During this crazy quarantine, I have seen more people inspired to cook and photograph their culinary creations. I personally love food and cooking in the kitchen, it’s a calming and creative place in my home. I follow some great foodie blogs and IG feeds and use so many of their delicious recipes as inspiration. This pandemic has caused us all to spend more time in the kitchen and I have absolutely been loving seeing what other people have been cooking and creating online.
We have so many homes in our files that we have scouted and one of the most photographed areas for commercial print/videos is in the kitchen. This weeks posts are dedicated to our home kitchens. Northern CA has such an eclectic blend of architectural and design styles. From traditional to rustic to modern, we have you covered.
We often rent out bars and restaurants for our commercial advertising clients who need this type of environment as a backdrop for their shoot. During this COVID shelter in place, we are thinking of our restaurant and bar spaces/owners that have been open to our production projects. We know that this is a hard time for everyone including our restaurant friends. Here is just a small selection of the bars and restaurants that we have in our files and we’re hopeful to be working with again when we come out of this crisis.
Because of our shelter in place mandate, so many of us are now working from home. We recently had a 4 hour scouting adventure on this fantastic ranch near Cloverdale, CA. This property offers plenty of parking, a home for staging, several redwood groves and endless trails and roads for filming.
We had a fantastic shoot with Lexus, highlighting their new LC500 series vehicles. They have just released their new video and featurette of Visionaries: Artistic License which we are proud to share below.

We recently worked on a location heavy commercial for Cadillac - GM China. This project required a lot of time and effort to close down the Bay Bridge and California Street, shoot several locations with drones and even having a live deer on set. This one is absolutely stunning. Such an amazing team and we're so proud to have worked on this one!

We had a great time on set with Sam Robinson and the Bose Team. Not only did we scout and provide locations for this campaign, but my family was also selected to be talent for the shoot. Sourcing new offices for commercial shoots has proven to be difficult over the years. Many offices don't allow 3rd party production in their space due to insurance, liability and in many cases from a lack of understanding. We recently worked with a client who requested several Enterprise and SMB office spaces for a new global ad campaign and we were put to the test. After reaching out to nearly 50 new office spaces, we are excited to say that we have successfully added 9 new beautiful, vetted, working offices to our database. These spaces are located all over the Bay Area, so let us know when you're looking for an office for your next production!
With the holiday's quickly upon us, we would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.A fitting post for this holiday season... we are sharing a fantastic commercial for Levi's that we recently worked on with producer, Rena Fink and Director, Sandra Winther. Shot in September, we provided locations to shoot multiple scenes of a family on a Holiday Getaway. Complete with a mountain cabin, rolling hills, rustic roads (fire pit, disco ball and fake snow) we were tasked with providing the locations, maps, permits and location management for this large, client driven project.The end result was a 'shoppable' video that incorporates a newer experience, which allows the viewer to click on any of the products on screen to view and purchase that item. We had the privilege of recently working on an Asics print campaign with Jen McKibben at Little Devil Productions out of Barcelona. Their location list was long and diverse, but the San Francisco Bay Area provided a perfect backdrop for their needs. The Asics team shot for 7 days straight, using locations from San Francisco, Oakland, Marin and Vallejo. Here are just a few of the stunning shots from London based photographer, Paul Calver.
